February birthstone: Amethyst
Historically associated with royalty, amethyst ranges from light pink to dark purple, often within the same stone. Until the 18th Century discovery of large deposits in Brazil, amethyst was extremely rare, and placed in the same league as diamonds and emeralds. These drops of lavender glass show off the blushing color to perfection.
