Why did you start your shop?
Modern Mouse opened its doors in 2009 under the watchful eye of OG owner, Eleen Hsu. She wanted to create and cultivate a more community-oriented and intimate retail space, showcasing all handmade, locally-made, and/or independently designed goods. Since Matt and I, Mynt, became the new Head Mice, we've only sought to perpetuate that vision.
What types of products do you carry?
We carry a little something for everyone! From apparel and jewelry to home goods and body products - we have a little bit of everything for him, her, them, and home! Feel free to visit modernmousegifts.com for a tip of the iceberg glance of what we carry.
What do your customers love?
Our best-loved items are those that appeal to the Alameda island-pride! Besides that, anything with a personal story is appreciated in our space - which is great, because 99% of our items have a super interesting back story.
