Although my unique glass melting process gets most of the attention, I spend a lot of time working with wire. In order to have a way to connect the glass teardrops, I wrap every single drop with silver wire to form a secure loop on top - I've built up some very specific calluses on my fingertips over time. :)
Some pieces, like my Bohemian and Tendrils collections, get more elaborate wire wrapping. And of course, I make a number of styles of handmade earwires, both a handmade French earwire that can be added to most of my earrings, and for my Doodles Collection where the handmade earwires themselves really are the jewelry design.
I really love seeing what works (and what doesn't) with simply bending and hammering the wire - no soldering, no welding, just a thread of metal, some pliers, and my own two hands.
